Residents that are interested in homeownership can take certain steps to help make sure they will meet the requirements for a traditional or an alternate loan and get into the home of their dreams. Here are some things you can do to be eligible for a home loan.
Have Down Payment Funds: This may seem simplistic, but many new home buyers start saving at the last minute. It's best to start saving as soon as possible.
Steady Job History: While you are looking for a home, don't switch jobs during that time. In fact, it's best to stay in the same line of work for at least 2 years.

Check Your Credit History Thoroughly: Lenders like to look at credit histories. This lets the lender make a more informed decision regarding loan prequalification. Through the credit report, lenders will get your credit score, also called the FICO score. Your credit score represents the statistical summary of data contained within the credit report.
